Recycled Pipe
Unlike PVC, concrete or FRP/GRP, HDPE is completely recycled in New Zealand. INFRAPIPE reprocesses all production waste but for ECOPIPE we also purchase post-consumer recycling (when available) to incorporate into the pipe. An SN4 DN600 for instance can contain as many as 3000 milk bottles. See here for more details.
Why choose ECOPIPE™?
Beyond the obvious environmental advantages, there are multiple benefits to ECOPIPE™ that can help save time and money during the installation and over its lifetime:
- Up to 3,200mm in diameter.
- High chemical and abrasion resistance.
- Low asset maintenance.
- Uses recycled plastic.
- 100-year life expectancy.
ECOPIPE™ can be adapted in many ways to fit to existing concrete, PE or PVC culverts and even have flood gates attached if required.
- Light and easy to handle – a DN1500 ECOPIPE™ pipe weighs 114kg/m vs a 1500 Class 4 concrete pipe which weighs 1,623kg/m.
- We calculate the exact load requirement for your unique application, so you only pay for the pipe strength you need.
- Smooth interior/bore to increase flow rates.
- Socket (female) / Spigot (male) push fit connections to quickly connect to other pipes.
- Pipe can be drilled/perforated for drainage and it does not affect its strength.
- Pipes can be manufactured to length to save cost and wastage.
Installation Guidelines
It is important to install ECOPIPE™ properly as this will guarantee a long service life and ensure that there is no risk of structural damage.
The installation of these pipes is based on a granular backfill like gravel or sand that must be compacted as much as possible (to 95% MDD). This gives the pipe adequate side support to sustain the soil and vehicle loadings throughout the culvert’s life.
Please contact INFRAPIPE™ ([email protected]) if you have any questions regarding the installation or supply of HDPE culvert pipes.
INFRAPIPE™ Rural/Forestry Culvert Pipes are designed and manufactured to produce zero toxic leaching.
